I think it would be really cool to disappear for a few days. Like Agatha Christie did in 1926. The big difference would be that most of the world wouldn't care or even notice that I had disappeared. Sure, my friends and family would wonder where I had gone and why I didn't tell them where I was going (and hopefully be quite worried about me), but it wouldn't exactly be an international mystery. That's okay with me, though, because the whole idea would be to see if I could truly be "un-find-able" for a short period of time. Well, maybe that wouldn't be the whole idea. It would also just be nice to have a few days of uninterrupted peace and quiet. Then maybe I could realize my dream of writing my own mystery. (That's an interesting question--could I write a good mystery novel if I had 11 days all to myself?)
They figured out where Agatha Christie went but not why she went. I like to think she was doing some real-life research for her writing. (If you want to know more about her disappearance, follow this clue.) She either chose not to disclose her real reasons for disappearing or she herself did not know why--i.e. amnesia of some sort. Either way...it's still a mystery.
Oh, and don't be concerned if, at some point, you see a gap in my posts for a few days. Say, for example, eleven days.
I feel like disappearing everyday around 5:00pm.
ReplyDeleteDisappear this April and come to BYU Women's Conference. It's only 2 days and you are guaranteed not to get any writing done, but it's tons of fun!! : )
